"Good TV - Great Picture, Decent Sound" 2010-01-30
By Big
The picture is everything you would expect from a Samsung: crystal clear and beautiful. HDTV, Blu Ray, and PS3 games look brilliant, and the screen seems larger than 22 inches. That being said, the speakers could have used some more power behind them. They are a bit soft.

 "pleased" 2009-06-21
By Frank Meddleson Jr. (philadelphia pa)
This is my first purchase of a LCD tv. I think that the plasma screen gives a better picture because there is no distortion from any viewing area, but the LCD is a good picture if viewed straight on. If you sit too close though, it gets a little grainy.

Very Good small sized HDTV. Has very sharp picture. Flesh tones however are not rendered well.

I was interested in this item once I saw that it was backed by Amazon.com. I did extensive research on this item, both in the retail stores and on the web (ebay). The price was a factor and I put great faith in the description provided by the seller. Once my decision was made to go thru Amazon, everything went smooth for a good transaction. Thanks Amazon.com !!

"Great TV, even better computer monitor!" 2010-02-03
By Mark Schneider (Central Mass)
I bought this on sale at Target for $220 a month ago. Originally I was going to use it as a main TV in my living room as a first HDTV, but it was a bit small and I ended up buying a 32" Sony for that soon after. So, being stuck with 2 TV's, I decided to put this one in the bedroom. I tried it on my computer with the comp cable and was blown away by it, so it's now my new monitor, and the bedroom now has cable after running a drop in from a splitter in the basement. The pic on TV wasn't perfect with the presets, but after a few minutes of adjustments it looks great to me. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is the slightly tinny sound, but I can live with that as a second TV.

 "Great for bedrooms" 2009-11-30
By Michael H. Bishop (Seymour, CT USA)
I bought this TV when my mother said she would get me a PS3 for Christmas. Maybe I'm just over excited about it because it's a nice upgrade from a 15 inch Samsung, but I love this TV! This picture quality is great (even without HDTV) and I can't wait to play some HD games on it. I only have a couple minor complaints:

The sound quality isn't great. BUT, there is a headphone jack that I plugged my stereo speakers into, so I use those speakers when watching TV which is great. The other thing that is kind of annoying (not enough to return the TV, mind you) is the amount of time it takes to change channels. Channel surfing with the up-down buttons is fine, but when I enter channel numbers in it usually takes at least 6 or 7 seconds. But like I said, these are minor flaws that really don't bother me much.

Overall this is a great TV, especially for bedrooms (gaming).

"FLAWED DESIGN: Can't add channels!!!" 2009-11-19
By Agilityman (Ohio, USA)
This TV seemed like a great deal, decent picture and 1080P for a good price.

Was I in for a shock when I took it home to set it up! We live between three major TV markets in different directions, and can get all their channels -- 51 of them! -- by pointing our rotating antenna toward the city whose channel we want to watch. When I pointed the antenna to City A and autoscanned the channels, it picked up those channels fine. When I pointed the antenna toward City B and scanned, it picked up the City B channels, but ERASED all the City A channels! I called Tech Support, and was on the phone for almost two hours. Got up to Level 3 Tech Support. No one could tell me how to add my channels back, or add individual channels so I could have all the channels of the three cities near me in my channel list. They finally admitted this TV will only work for people with one non-rotating antenna, and is not suitable for people with antenna rotors, wanting to get channels from cities in different directions. There was no warning on the box.

BOTTOM LINE: DESIGN DEFECT RESULTS IN NO WAY TO ADD ADDITIONAL CHANNELS. UNSUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH ROTATING OR MULTIPLE ANTENNAS!!!

"Vizio frame light is annoying at night" 2009-09-25
By P. Buechner
I purchased this TV for our bedroom. While the picture quality and sound are both great one thing I was not aware of and find annoying is the light on the frame, with the TV in the bedroom, the light is on all the time. It is annoying at night and there is no way to turn it off. It's like having a night light on all the time. We do cover it with a book but I must say...why is it there? It is drawing electricity unnecessarity. With all the studies of green products, you would think Vizio would make this an optional light. It was one thing I never even thought about while shopping for a TV.

"Dim Picture - Terrible Sound" 2009-08-17
By Jane Diokas (NYC)
I am returning my Vizio TV today. It looked so good in the store and it was full hi-def, so I expected something pretty good. I bought it for a sunny kitchen and I could hardly see it at all the picture was so dim - and the sound was like a tin can - so annoying I just couldn't imagine getting used to it. In the meantime I bought a Samsung (only 780 hi-def) but the picture was so much clearer and brighter I couldn't believe the difference. I would steer clear of the Vizio.

 "Great picture and sound" 2010-02-10
By P Finger (chicago, IL USA)
I received this TV as a birthday gift. I installed it in my home office on a wall mount. Once powered up I was impressed with the picture quality and sound. For a small package it has a clear picture with bright colors and crisp details. The sound is sufficient for my office and can get pretty loud if I set it loud. The built-in DVD player is easy to use.

The remote is not as user friendly as I would like.

"Quality Assurance out the window!" 2010-01-14
By W. Cook (Greenville SC)
I was looking on the unternet at 22" Flat Screen TV's to replace my old tube TV in the kitchen. When I came upon the Sharp LC-22DV27UT TV/DVD combo, its capabilites caught my eye. I decided to go to a Electronics store to check it out. The TV looked great, the picture was better than most of the other 22" models and the sound , although weak, was loud enough to hear it sitting ten feet away. When I asked the clerk to stick a DVD in there was a problem. The DVD went in okay, and the screen said it was reading, but then the screen went black and stayed black. The clerk ejected and re-inserted the disk a couple times with the same results. I asked did he have another TV in stock and he said yes. So I bought it, took it home and got it all set up in the kitchen. The picture color needed a little adjustment, but otherwise it was great, until I tried to use the DVD. Upon inserting the DVD in the slot it would immediately eject. I tried putting the disk in frontwards and backwards with the same results. I figured maybe somethings wrong with the Disk. So I got another DVD, inserted it and it stayed. However the player never turned on and the DVD would not eject. After repeated attempts to recover my wife's favorite DVD I repacked the TV w/DVD and took it back to the store. Its obvious to me that the DVD player installed in this model by Sharp is either a low end piece of junk or Sharp hasn't learned the importance of Quality Assurance in their manufacturing facility. I'm still searching for a "Good 22" TV/DVD combo!

"Sharp picture, Sharp DVD play" 2009-12-19
By Michelle (Spring, Texas, USA)
Have loved having this TV as a secondary! Picture is clear and very good quality. DVD play is quick to start up. With an antenna, a lot of digital TV signals come in. Sound is good in the small room we have it in. Very glad I bought it. Worth every bit of nearly $400 I spent!

"Review of LG W2253TQ-PF 22-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor" 2010-02-03
By Sheol (San Antonio, TX USA)
Great LCD monitor. No bad pixels found. My only complaint about this "High Definition" 1080p monitor is that it doesn't come with a DVI or HDMI cable. It only comes with a standard VGA cable which of course makes this an "analog" monitor.

"Great monitor but no HDMI" 2009-08-20
By Kyle Pfenninger
I bought this monitor knowing that it would do full 1080p resolution but didn't realize until i got the monitor and realized it didn't have an HDMI input only DVI. Isn't much of an issue but i had to find an extra DVI cable since i didn't have one laying around like i did with the HDMI. I can't figure out how to get the FORTE manager to work to set user preferences i'm not sure why this is the case. Other than that i haven't been disappointed with its performance

 "Fully Competent Monitor" 2009-07-11
By Bass Cadet (California)
Ever since upgrading my motherboard (AMD 5600+) and video card (Nvidia GeForce 8600), I've been thinking about getting a new widescreen monitor to replace an old 17" Samsung SyncMaster 713v. This became even more important when I started editing HD video and digital photographs. Then two weeks ago I picked up an LG GGW-H20L, a combo Blu-ray writer/HD DVD-ROM drive. I had to upgrade my monitor. I wanted a slightly larger display but, more importantly, one with full 1920x1080 HD resolution. Since this is a desktop monitor, I was looking for something 20-22".

This monitor has a simple base which pivots up and down a few degrees. It has an analog VGA input and a digital DVI input and comes with a VGA cable but no DVI cable. Both inputs work well with the 8600 but I've set the analog to a TV switch box. The controls are neat--touch sensitive with an option to light up the controls when your finger approaches. The only bad part is it is difficult to read the labels. Some of the options are good: 1 or 2 hour reminder, color temperature, and separate RGB controls. Some are not too useful: Auto Bright, Photo Effects, and Gaussian Blur.

For the actual monitor performance, I have to say it is excellent for the price. I've watched parts of Blu-ray and HD DVD movies, edited and viewed some HD movie material, and did some photo editing. The monitor performed admirably with all these. Finally, I calibrated the monitor using Spyder2PRO and the default levels were a bit off. The calibrated image is outstanding!

 "As a TV, it's fine. As a monitor, it's ...." 2010-01-30
By Haisong Ye
The Coby TFTV2224 is fine to be used as a TV.

But, when I connected it to my computer with a vga cable, I couldn't set the resolution to 1680*1050 which said on the user mannual. I called the technical support service, and they told me to change the vga cable. I bought a another vga cable, but it didn't work, yet. Then I tried the vga cable on another monitor, it worked; and then I tried the coby monitor on another laptop, it didn't work. So I think the coby monitor didn't support it's own max resolution.

So, if you just want buy a TV, take it. If you want buy a 22' LCD monitor, don't buy it.

"no shutting off the parental control" 2009-11-20
By arnold ford
this would be a nice tv, for a small room, but the v-chip that this tv has for parental control, only let you use the unlock code for a bit, if you change channels, or the next program comes on, you have to imput the unlock code, default is 0000, with dish network, if you go to the channel guide that sets it off, you can see where to turn this nonsense off, but that's about it, besides that works ok as a computer monitor , not great but useable.

 "AVERAGE WITH A FEW SHORT-COMINGS" 2010-01-15
By The Toyman (Central Illinois)
GENERAL INFORMATION

This set is being used in a kitchen, replacing a 5-yr-old 17" Phillips LCD (not digital/HD ).

Reason for replacement is I wanted more viewing (screen) area.

Viewing distance typically ranges from 8 feet (during meals) to 15 feet (meal preparation & clean-up).

Typically used to watch national news/stock market ticker.

Connection: Comcast cable - no cable box nor cable card.

The following descriptions of picture quality were made using analog channels.

PROS

- Screen displays a picture within 8 seconds of powering on, compared to 15 seconds on the replaced 17" Phillips LCD.

- The 'blank' time between (changing) channels is about three seconds less than the Phillips, but comparable to two other 32" Sony digital/HD TVs.

- Initial setup was reasonably intuitive. I scanned the Quick Set Up Guide before starting.

CONS

- During set up, before initiating the 'Find channels' step, I was directed to select the cable signal type used by the cable provider (Comcast), and given a choice of STANDARD, IRC & HRC; there was no explanation/definition provided in the Quick Setup Guide. I didn't know what the instruction meant, so tried each one (resetting the channels selected between each choice). IRC & HRC resulted in no digital/high def. channels being found, which left me with a reasonable guess of what to choose. However, to verify my choice, I looked on-line and found directions to use IRC [...]. But since that still didn't find digital/HD channels, I called Comcast and was told to use STANDARD, which added perhaps 50 hypenated channels (e.g. 132-1), including a few labeled HD on the viewed channel. Lacking a cable box, scrambled channels didn't display.

- The picture on the old 480 resolution Phillips was slightly superior to this 720 Samsung. I've tweaked the picture settings (brightness, contrast, sharpness, color & tint), but still haven't been able to match more natural skin tones that were displayed on the old Phillips and three other, larger Sony digital/HD TVs. Additionally, lack of picture sharpness is particularly annoying; objects often appear grainy and people's faces appear to have an excess of makeup to the point of blurring definiton of detail. That also applies to other scenes. The previously-mentioned Sonys (also viewing analog channels) have a similar problem, but not quite to the extent of this Samsung. I discussed it with a TV-repairman friend, who said it had something to do with the lack of processing power of the TV. I had wanted to buy a 22" Sony (Model KDL-22L5000), but waited too long (discontinued by Sony), and the location of the TV (between shelves) restricts using a larger size. In fairness, a Sony in this size-range may have similar problems - I've not viewed one. And of course if I wanted to pay Comast an additional [...]/month for another converter box, the problem might be moot, because I'd use the digital/HD channels. But that's not worth it to me for a set that gets about 60 minutes of use most days. Comcast already gets more of my money than I would like.

-Sound quality (out-of-the -box) was lousy, but tweaked to acceptable, by using TruSurround Sound and increasing the three lowest equalizer frequencies (bass side) significantly. Volume levels are lacking. The old Phillips was usually set at one-third of max-available volume. Depending on which channel is being used, this Samsung is often set closer to 45 percent of available volume. Maxing the volume is uncomfortable, but not overwhelming (No, I'm not deaf). Additionally with Auto Volume on, there is much less consistency of volume from channel to channel - some channels are harshly loud while others are far too soft. Disabling Auto Volume helps maintain levels from channel-to-channel, but the sound level (volume) drops a bit.

- The set is described on Samsung's web site as having "Touch of Color(tm) (which) adds a sophisticated touch to the bezel". The Samsung site shows it as a different color/shade on about 1/3 of the frame. The set I received is solid, glossy black. This point isn't an issue for me, but it's not what's described.

- When channels are stored as 'Favorites', they cannot be recalled from a list of Favorite channels. Push the button - a Favorite channel displays. Push it again for another Favorite channel, etc - in numeric order. If there's a way to display a list of ONLY the Favorites and then select one to watch, I haven't found it. Again, annoying.

SUMMARY

The set meets my criteria for a larger viewing area in the space available, but the (analog channels) picture quality is mediocre. I viewed the model at Best Buy before buying - it looked good, but was connected via digital/high def. Unless I add a converter box, I'll not be completely satisfied with it. Full disclosure: excepting the 17" Phillips, and this Samsung, the other three digital/high def. TV sets I own run through a cable box (1) or cable card (2).

 "Second one is excellent" 2009-12-10
By donok (Ft Worth, TX)
The first one was shipped very fast. Upon receipt, the color could not be properly adjusted. Poor contrast and just not a sharp or color correct picture. I requested a replacement and received it in 2 days. This one has a perfect picture and the sound is not bad for a small TV. I would recommend this one. We are very pleased.

 "Very Satisfied Customer" 2009-12-10
By W. Moody
I received my new Samsung tv in less than week after ordering from Amazon and receiving the free shipping. The tv is slim and looks beautiful on the outside. I was able to pick up a few HD channels with a small indoor antenna. The picture is amazing. CBS in HD looks absolutely outstanding. I wish I had ordered this tv sooner so I could have watched the entire college football season on it. This tv is perfect for my bedroom and the volume is not an issue in a small room. Everything seems sturdy and the tv came with everything needed to setup and start watching within 10 minutes. A great buy.

 "Bedroom TV" 2009-11-21
By R. Rule (Eatonton, GA)
TV arrived within several days of ordering same. Packaging was excellent and the TV arrived in perfect condition. Instructions for set up and viewing gave me some difficulty but that might be an age problem on my part. Excellent picture viewed from the bed since the LCD is pointed that way. Angle viewing beyond about 35 degrees from straight on causes considerable fading but not a problem for watching from the bed. All in all I am very pleased with this purchase. Wal Mart and other stores were selling old models of the 22" Samsung for prices in the $300-$350 range.

"A Superb TV for a small room" 2009-11-17
By D Kaps (Boston, MA)
The TV is perfect for a small room (bedroom, dorm, kitchen, etc) and should not be compared to much larger units. The picture is brilliant in HD with vivid colors. Setup was easy. And the sound is ok, not great. But remember, small TV's have small speakers. In this model, two 3watt speakers. With some adjustment, the sound was passable. Decent volumn but no base. Most of the reviews on this model, as well as other small TV's rate sound as mediocre. Not the case. Once you see the fantastic picture, you expect a rich base sound experience to accompany a movie. Get real. You can always add bookshelf speakers. I am very happy with the purchase.

"good buy for the money" 2009-10-26
By sunshine (florida)
Needed a TV for my teenagers room. Very good price and a good picture. Have been using for about a month and everyone is happy with it.

"A very nice picture, and easy to use" 2009-07-13
By Maynard (Los Angeles, CA, USA)
I'm very happy with my new Sharp. The picture is very nice, it was easy to set up when I received it (didn't even open the manual yet), and the remote control was thoughtfully designed. I just hooked it up to a regular TV antenna bought at the dollar store, and it picked up all the digital channels in my area with no problem.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the sound isn't rich like on my old-fashioned TV. I haven't tried hooking it up to a computer yet, or a DVD player, so can't comment on that. It's a good buy, especially for the price.

"Cannot access WXGA configuration from PC" 2009-07-08
By Hero22c (VA)
I used LC-22SB27U TV on a couple laptops, the WXGA modes cannot be activated. I only have 800x600 and 1024x768 choices. Sharp customer service says the video card should take care of this. But why other HDTVs don't have this issue? One of my computer video card is Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset on Dell D620.

 "A Dog" 2009-06-21
By Robert P. Daugherty (Atlanta)
I was very disappointed in this set. I have 3 other Sharp LCD's and purchased this one for the kitchen. Could not adjust the "haze" out of it.

I had bought a 22" Samsung and was going to take it back if this one worked out glad I waited to return it. The Samsung had a much better picture.

 "happy with my purchase" 2010-02-02
By T. Boudreaux (Houston, TX United States)
i am really happy with my purchase- it is exactly what i was looking for- the picture quality is great, and the HD signal is incredible- I originally bought this tv for my work out room, but i am using it right now in the office and living room in place of my huge projection tv that has terrible picture quality- it is extremely portable- the size is great. i have not found anything to complain about, but i have only used it 2 days. I moved it from the upstairs bedroom to the downstairs den- and it took little effort. The audio is more than sufficient.

"Excellent TV at a great price!" 2010-01-24
By Sarah Pistorius
Gave this TV to my husband for his office for Christmas. Amazon offered it for 100 dollard cheaper than other retailers. Did research on this size TV and this got the best reviews. The picture quality is great and so is the sound.

 "Nice item, Great appearance!" 2010-01-17
By Dau
I like very much this item, I have purchased it as present and was really excited!

So far, I have no complains about it, except the fact that when connecting to a DVD player, for the sound to come out, you have to make sure that the DVD player is off when connecting, otherwise you will get the picture, but not necessarly the sound...

But overall experience, especially now that I know how it works, I'm happy with that!

 "Great medium-sized TV" 2009-12-07
By No-Nonsense Consumer (New York)
We bought this tv for the countertop in a corner of our kitchen. I didn't want a small tv, as it would be hard to see from across the kitchen. But I wanted it to fit nicely below the upper cabinet. I also wanted it to be big enough to work well in a bedroom or a college dorm in the future. This tv is fabulous. Really great picture. Super easy to set-up. Sleek and unobtrusive looking when not on, and gorgeous when set to an HDTV channel. Sound is very good. Remote is small and easy to use. Delivery was straight-forward; we just had to pick it up at UPS since they wanted a signature in order to drop it off and we work full time. We are very happy with this purchase.

 "good choice" 2009-11-04
By T. Avoian (California)
1. it is a very good TV

2. sound is not a problem. change Dolby Digital Dynamic Range settings to "compressed". also what do you expect from a small TV ... for example I expect just OK sound

3 it tilts about 15-20 degrees backward and 2-3 degrees forward. 22" samsung does not. as it happens with all LCDs picture gets darker if you look from the angle ...especially from bellow. if it is your case tilt it forward or place something under the back of the base to tilt it forward (base is wide and stable).

4. 22" should be your minimal size. 19" will be good as a office TV but it is too small for even a small bedroom.

5. contrast and colors are excellent, definitely not worse then samsung one has...I even like toshiba's more

6. remote is super convenient, it has has "favorite channels" button

7. channels changing is relatively quick

8. toshiba looks like a real TV set opposite to 22" samsung which looks like a PC monitor

8. bought it from Amazon for $230 in Sept

9. my room is semi-dark... just like the "TV section" at BestBuy stores

"Beautiful picture, great reception, nice TV" 2010-02-01
By Christian M. Peterson
This is our first flat panel TV and we did quite a bit of research before purchasing. Seems different manufacturers concentrate on different sizes - Samsung had by far the best picture for the 22" class (looked at a bunch of TV's at Best Buy to compare). TV size was dictated by where it's being used. Great antenna - we have no cable at our rural location and often have a difficult time receiving local stations. This TV already had 90% of the local stations with only the coaxial cable connected - I hadn't even connected the antenna yet. With antenna connected it receives all local channels perfectly.

The owner's manual is a bible - there are about 1000 features to this TV that we'll never use nor understand. HDTV feature is stunning when using new Blu-Ray Disc player. Have only been using for about one month (Christmas present to ourselves)but so far so good. Would recommend highly.

 "A great TV" 2009-12-07
By James S. Andresen (Missouri)
A great TV for Bedroom. No problems out of the box. Easy set up. Sound complaints, I have none. That was the biggest thing I feared before buying after reading reviews. Who needs a home theatre system for a 26"? The sound quality is great for my bedroom. I'm impressed with the color as was my Direct TV installer. You just can't beat the 30,000 to 1 ratio for a TV this size. Next I'll buy the Samsung LNB22460 for my computer room and office.

 "Great value" 2009-10-24
By Judy (Poughkeepsie, NY USA)
I was a bit concerned when ordering this TV because of the comments regarding poor sound quality. I have not found that to be the case. The sound I am getting on this set is more than acceptable. Of course, if you're looking for theater-quality surround sound, you need better speakers. But for a bedroom set, this is just fine. I also found the set extremely easy to set up, and I have very little technical ability. The remote control is straight forward and simple to use, even without reading the manual. I have no hesitation about giving this TV a 5 star rating.

 "Perfect for small" 2009-10-19
By Rockford Fan
This TV is ideal for the bedroom. I was not looking forward to an LCD TV, since the ones I view in stores look choppy and pixelated so frequently. What a surprise. Blu-Ray is outstanding, HDTV is incredibly clear and standard def. DVDS are excellent. Seems this smaller size (not 26") is the optimum for my needs. Very pleased.

"Worked through the 90 day warrenty, then..." 2009-10-13
By N. Smith
This TV worked like a charm until about a week after its 90 day warranty. Then it began to randomly shut itself off (3-4 times in an hour) with the only method for turning it back on being to unplug it from the wall, wait 10sec, and replug. It might just be this one set but this ordeal has put a sour taste in my mouth. I won't be buying a Samsung TV again.

 "Great TV" 2010-02-02
By C. Hayes
I bought two of these TV's for Christmas presents for my kids. Both work great and in my opinion have a very good picture. So far, one has developed a very small green dot in the middle of the screen where a pixel has obviously stopped working, but once a full pictures comes up, it is not visible. The sound is OK on both TV's especially for their size. I really like the fact that the TV's offers so many options for external devises. Both are now hooked up to their computers so that they can watch on-line movies and youtube clips, very cool. I will note that as others have said, the placement of the ports make it difficult to connect cords such as VGA and HDMI cords, but once they are connected, they work fine. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a budget HiDef TV for a bedroom or dorm room!

"Good Flatscreen for the Money" 2010-02-01
By T. Karfs (Texas)
I purchased this TV for the bedroom. To be honest, I never heard of Viore before ordering it, but it was the best price for the size I wanted. The picture quality is just as good as more expensive models, and in fact I just bought a 42-inch Viore for my gameroom.

 "It's OK" 2010-01-30

Cheap TV. Works OK. Still have to use 2 remotes with cable setup.

 "GREAT TV" 2010-01-07
By David J. Riebe (Moosic PA USA)
I got this for my 10 yr old who had a 15 inch in his room. i have to say, out of the box, VERY IMPRESSED I was and I am very picky when it comes to TV's. Beautiful picture with one HD input and an HDMI input!!! Nice remote too, great TV for the price. A+++++

"Bad Picture Brightness Top and Bottom" 2010-01-07
By Jarrod C. Turner
Based on previous reviews I tried this TV. Mistake. The tv picture is fine except for the brightness at the top and bottom. Really annoying. Especially when you have a black screen. Maybe it was a one time deal with this particular TV. But I don't believe in making the same mistake twice. So I returned it and will try another. Hopefully with better luck.
